Distance (H/W for Wednesday)

I visited Porthkerry Viaduct over the weekend and immediately thought of Cotman's painting

Your homework is to bring out the sense of distance between the foreground and the background. Grouping tonal values into stage set "flats" can help this but there may be other ways that you discover by having a go. It might be fun to invent something going on in the foreground too.
