Painting clothed figures

Writer's picture: sebastianaplinsebastianaplin

On Friday we're going to practice painting clothed figures so that we don't get lost in painting individual items of clothing but rather stick to interesting pictoral shapes and contrasts.

In particular we are going to find ways of simplifying the clothed form and prioritising a defined palette over painting items of clothing using "local colour".

You needn't bring in any of your own images on Friday as it is preparation for painting Barry in his shirt and tie the week after.
