For the Friday group this will be our last session with a model, although our last session will be on Friday 31st of March when we will be painting another portrait from resource material you have brought in.
We will carry on the practice of beginning with a small composition thumbnail before embarking on a longer figure model painting. Now that the idea of "sculptural blocking" is well understood it was really satisfying to see how people were modulating the tone and hue of colours bring out forms. Although this is easier to achieve with a reduced palette it was great so see other people using more vibrant colours as well to achieve this through "visual mixing".
