Course description

You can participate in this 5 week course using either oils or acrylics (see painting equipment lists) as I can help you with either technique. This course will look at the rich history of landscape art to see how the environment around us can be transformed into painting. We will be working from both resource images I provide as well as developing your own resource image stock to paint from. We will look at composition sketching (even outside “en plein air” like the impressionists, if the weather permits), atmospheric perspective and colour palettes to capture mood. We will do specific exercises to refine your control of distance and modelling of form to give you the technical confidence to develop and complete your own painted landscapes.
