I'm a painter and art tutor who has lived in Cardiff since 2011 and taught at COAS (Cardiff open art school) since 2015. I work mainly in oils and watercolour but also use acrylics and pastels on a regular basis.

I'm very lucky in that my courses and workshops help me to research and understand more about how painting works and so will let an exploration of colour or contrast guide my subject matter. Although I am in awe of the painters who pushed painting forward and often enrich my own painting with their techniques, I am excited at all the manifestations of current painting as it lives on in the age of photoshop and Instagram.

The rise of digital automation and AI has not dampened my fascination at the psychological processes that take place in the creation of a painting. I am happy to let the viewer in to visually wander around and question all the decisions I took in the process of painting.
